NFC Championship to feature Texas HS QB's

Six-man expert
Both of them have played in a state championship. Case Keenum won in 2004 at Abilene Wylie. Nick Foles lost at Austin Westlake in 2006 (17-14 to Southlake Caroll) but broke most of Drew Brees records the 2 years he started there.

I read a little more about these guys.
Foles first went to Michigan then to Arizona and was drafted in the third round by the Eagles.
Keenum was pursued by Baylor, UNT and UTEP but only Art Briles at Houston offered him a scholarship. Redshirt then split time starting (successfully) then Briles left for Baylor. Keenum went on to set 11 NCAA D1 records at the time he graduated. Including career Touch Down passes, yards and number of completions.
He went undrafted. Made the Texans practice squad, next year the third string qb. 100 K a year ain't bad for palying football. A little playing time.
Last year he backed up Foles with the Rams, starting 5 games.
This year he threw a hail mary in a quarterfinal and it worked. Bet he'd of made a good spreadback in sixman.

I bet I am the only person in the world to have played sixman football and laid a hand on Case Keenum with pads on!

A sack? When, where?

No, no, no lol! I played sixman at Lohn my 9th, 11th, and 12th grade year and was a part of the 2007 playoff team. We moved to Abilene my sophomore year, and I went to Abilene Wylie for part of that.

During practice one day, I was playing Dline and beat the lineman in front of me. Case went to throw the ball, and that always creates a dilemma for the rusher. While I knew hitting him would get me killed, I wanted the coaches to know I could have sacked him if I wanted to because I did not play as much as I would have liked to. I elected to literally touch his shoulder pads just as sort of a "hey, I could destroy you" type thing. One of the coaches comes up to me and says "good job son, but make sure you do not hit him. He has a long career of him."

I do not remember that coaches name or even what he coached, but boy his statement turned out to be prophetic! On top of the football awards, Case was a really good basketball player in high school as well.

On a side note, I did sack Case McCoy that same year in a JV game against Graham.

I read where the reaction of one Vike's fan after last week was "Dilly! Dilly! we're going to Philly" (take off on the Bud Light commercial. Hope it works out well for them. I remember them throwing snowballs and it seems like other things at Cowboy players when they came out to start the game or at half time years ago at the vet. Never knew they had a courtroom and jail under the stands.

Looks like the eagles fans are getting fired up tonight. Air horns outside the Vike's hotel all night? Seems like the hotel, NFL or Vikings would be calling the cops about a public disturbance.
Looks like the Viking fans were too in the last video. Wherever they are at they have to be breaking the fire code occupancy law. I don't remember ever seeing a NFL team fan base quite that enthused the day before a game. They had me shouting Skol! by the last couple of rounds of it. Wife looked at me like I'd gone (even more) nuts.

Watching the Keenum - Diggs what they're calling a walk off touchdown on the last play last week live made me think back to what I'd always thought was the original "Hail Mary". I saw it live (on TV) at the time too.

It actually goes all the way back to Knute Rockne's team at Notre Dame in 1922 and the only Presbyterian in the Catholic huddle. Or, 1935 and William Shakespeare.

They skip right over Roger the Dodger and Drew Pearson. The pass went through his hands, hit his thigh pad and bounced back up into his hands. That's a Hail Mary Too.
