How is Whiteface 6man?

Conference A shall consist of all schools with an enrollment of 104.9 or lower.
a. Schools with 104.9 or fewer students may choose to participate in
Conference A (six-man) football, or to play in Conference 2A (elevenman
football) but remain in Conference A for other applicable activities.
b. Schools participating in Conference A football must submit enrollments
for grades 9-12. if this enrollment figure is over 104.9, schools currently
participating in conference A football can continue to participate in
conference A football if, using one of the calculation methods below, an
enrollment of less than 105 is achieved. Alternative calculation methods
are:
i. Grades 8-11
ii. Grades 7-10
iii. Grades 9-10 doubled.
These schools would be 2A in all other activities based on their 9-12
enrollment.

Yes that is correct. I am still wondering why the 12 graders are counted since they will graduate. The 9-10 doubled makes the most sense since those students will be playing sports for the full 2 years. It makes sense in 1A. Whiteface probably used the 8-11 count for football.

Gee whiz what’s next?! Is Allen ISD about to come down and play in the six man world too?!

Keep these big huge 2A teams out of here!

Didn't Whiteface turn in around 107? This is definitely a loophole for large D1 6man schools. How does this formula help out D2 schools at all?

I went to Buckholts we had a year where we had one grade that had 25 people. The rest of the grades were 12 students or smaller. We played D1 that year.

The rule is designed to allow 6 man schools to continue playing 6 man if there is a large class for one realignment cycle.

The 6 man game and 11 man game are very different and costs to modify fields would be a heavy burden on the school.

It’s less a loophole and more a safeguard in case schools go over by a small amount of students
