I'm beginning to wonder if Bellville will have any games this season.

I think they are just holding off until district. If I'm not mistaken they only have 7 boys and are really young. They should play on the 17th against Texas Christian School

I agree. Especially after Alvin's performance (or lack thereof)... Best of luck to Brenham.
And how 'bout that WFND/NCTA game! That sounds like an exciting one. And definitely makes me think about my bracket.

Can't wait to see what District holds for us.

If we pull off the upset and beat Alvin for district on Nov. 7th, we'll be getting the loser of Friday night's Seguin vs. Freddy game in Round 2 in Brenham.

WOW! The WF Notre Dame and NCTA was a great game. Clearly these two teams will be top two to come out of the North. The South....everyone knows who the top teams there are. I am interested to see if Longview Trinity and Covenant Classical can keep it rolling to next weeks show down between the two. Does anyone know anything about either one of these two 5-0 teams?

I only know a little about FWCC. It's the program's second year I believe. They've had a jr. high program, so their players are coming in with some experience. They've got some skill, but no depth (I guess few teams do...). A few injuries have kept some of their better athletes off the field, so it's possible that they're holding some cards up their sleeve. Also, their schedule does not make me confident in their 5-0. Not a lot of strength in those opponents. That being said, a lot of wins means Wild Card points, even if it's for independent teams and whatnot. Personally, I'd take a 2-3 NCTA over them 8 times out of 10. I'm not going to say they can't make the playoffs, but it's going to be through the wildcard if anything, IMO. We'll see what comes with Friday, maybe they'll put a whippin on Longview Trinity, though I think they play Brownwood this week. Like I said, Any given team on any given day...

I would kinda like to think they can prove me wrong and make a nice run this year...

FWCC hasn't played a very tough schedule so far and they have struggled a bit with a couple of those teams. That's why I gave BVL the nod over FWCC this Friday. BVL doesn't seem as strong as previous years either, but I think that they should beat FWCC.

I can confirm that one of their better players, who was originally judged out for the season with a foot injury, may be able to play this Friday. Not sure what exactly he'll add to the mix, but at least it's another player on a nine man roster.

Godsmightywarrior, To play devil's advocate, I'll say FWCC 46 - BVL 44.

Longview Trinity has done well this year but, other than the first game against Leveretts Chapel, hasn't faced real strong competition. Trinity plays Heath Fulton this Friday night so we will know exactly what kind of team we have after Friday night. Trinity plays hard, has decent speed and probably the best depth we've ever had. That being said, Heath Fulton is always a handful and we're playing at their place so we'll know what we have after that game.
