Lifegate taking advantage of spring football

SEGUIN — While the UIL only permits Class 5A and 4A schools to conduct spring football drills, TAPPS permits everyone to have them.

The Lifegate Christian football program is one of those TAPPS schools that is taking advantage of spring drills, and Falcons coach John Rabon likes what he has seen so far.

Lifegate hopes 7-on-7 run will pay off

SEGUIN — The Lifegate football team is experiencing a baptism of fire this summer.

No, the players and coaches aren’t violating any city fire ordinances, they’re participating in 7-on-7.

The Falcons are not just the only private school competing in the Canyon Passing League, they’re also the only 6-man team involved. The other nine teams in the CPL are UIL Classes 5A-3A.

While Lifegate (0-6 in CPL action) has yet to win a 7-on-7 contest, Falcons coach John Rabon believes his team will only benefit from the experience.

“Every snap we get with these guys, particularly the incoming freshmen, is one that’ll get us prepared for the fall,â€
