SA Castle Hills Eagles

Castle Hills is a private school located in Castle Hills, TX. Castle Hills was founded in 1981 and started playing six-man football in 2009.

Castle Hills has a pretty cool and storied six man football history. It started with a struggling school playing 1 game in 2009 and has many ups and downs, many storied games, traditions, and players. A really close knit group of brothers that found a common goal over multiple seasons united in faith. Castle Hills has only missed the playoffs 3 years in our 15 year history.

The program quickly found some success early playing in one of the highest scoring games in known six man history (10th) vs. Winston 105-109.

Having not won a playoff game until 2013 they would go on an incredible in 2013 to finish undefeated and come back form down 22 at half to beat long time rival and six-man powerhouse Fredericksburg Heritage and Tim Shipman. Unbeknownst to many at that time the future Head Coach of Caste Hills was on the Heritage sideline as their Offensive Coordinator. The 2013 team featured two seniors that played some level of College Football as WR/SB/CB Ethan Leos played WR for Texas Lutheran, he scored 26 TD and had 1110 YDS receiving his senior season for Castle Hills. He was a fundamental player in Eagle football History as him and his older brother Zach would later become members of the coaching staff. Senior OL/DL Michael Chairez played at ACU. Junior Dante Johnson rushed for 59 TD and 2860 YDS. An incredible team top to bottom. One of the deepest rosters you will find.

Riding the strong performance of 2013 Castle Hills school began to see an increase in numbers and moved up a division in TAPPS. Another strong season from RB Dante Johnson propelled Castle Hills to a 12-2 season and another State Championship. One of the most complete teams I have ever seen on a six man field to this day. Senior RB Dante Johnson who rushed for 48 TD and 3065 YDS was incredible, Sophomore QB Nathan Mumme was one of largest left handed QBs you will ever see in six man, we affectionally called him the Hefty Lefty. Dante Johnson did stints at UMHB and Texas Tech. Many other great contributing players also played huge parts in this season SR RB/DT Dillon Dorsett. SR TE/DE Micah Allmond, SR LB Grant Marshall. SR C Matt Friemel. JR HB/LB Jacob Sily. SO QB Nathan Mumme, SO RB/CB Luke Schmidt SO RB/CB/QB/S/LB Grant Hanson. FR S Justin Johnson

The next few seasons were solid seasons, but Castle Hills has never quite gotten back to the dance yet. Many other incredible players have come through the program as well. Including WR/DB/SB Andrew Anderson QB Elijah Loeffler, RB/LB Steven Tijerina all of whom were FR on that 2014 team. These guys helped carry on a winning tradition in Castle Hills football through 2017-18.

2018 saw some challenges with a crucial players breaking his collarbone in the first scrimmage and derailing the season. Coach Samplaski moved away to pursue ministry opportunities. Notable players from that year were C/DE Jacob Polanco and K Warner Owens who did kick in college briefly. 2019 began with a brand new coaching staff a few of whom had ties the old new DC Matt Garza had long been and continues to be the only MS HC the school has ever had. WR coach Andrew Anderson had played just a year earlier. New Coach Jeremy Wentrcek was very familiar with the team having coached against Castle Hills multiple times over the years. It was a great group of men selected to carry on the tradition.

2019-2021 began a rebuilding effort that started with just trying to field a team of six kids every game and at the end of the 2019 season playing a full game with a chance to win. 2020 was the infamous shortened season, the goal was to become competitive again and that we did. Though no games were won the season concluded with only a 19 point loss to eventual state champ TSD. 2021 began with the first win in nearly 3 seasons flipping an incredibly long losing streak into an 8 game winning streak. Castle Hills won their second ever district championship and made the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Many notable players include QB Noah Polanco, RB Caleb Ortiz, C Caleb Tomayo, RB Matthew Blue, C Isaac Hernandez, FB Chase Harris, K Austin Emery.

2022- Another strong season capped off by a heartbreaking district championship loss on a field goal to SMA, Castle Hills ran into illness in the playoffs and yet again lost in the first round. Notable seniors include QB/LB Bryson Sowell, WR/DB Pierson Criner, WR/SB/DB Baron Burns.

2023- Another dominate season behind incredible seasons from JR RB/LB Joe Wentrcek, JR HB/DT Aadyn Peterson, JR QB/S Josh Miller, SR C Ethan Anderson, SO HB/DT Ralston Burns, and many others. Castle Hills secured their first playoff win since 2017 and continues on the tradition of Kingdom Athletics. The season ended at the hands of Buzzsaw Pasadena First Baptist Academy.

The future of Castle Hills Football is bright, and the past is storied. Castle Hills has become a staple in the six man community and has a coaching staff that doesn't intend to go anywhere anytime soon.
