SIXMAN, TEXAS WORLD PREMIERE COMING TO DALLAS

NEVERTOOLATE Films and Visual Vagos are happy to announce that Six-Man, Texas has been accepted to the AFI Dallas Film Festival to be held in Dallas between March 27th and April 6th.

Yes, Alan Barber’s film, Six-Man, Texas will finally have its world premiere on Saturday, March 29 at the AFI Dallas Film Festival.

Filmed throughout the 2000 season, this film follows several teams across the state. It shows what the filmmakers call, “the real Friday Night Lights”, following several schools’ stories.

It shows the closing of Three Way School in Maple and the amazing run of the Aquilla Cougars, as they make their deepest run through the playoffs in school history.

Benny Weaver, the Aquilla coach back in 2000, is probably the most intriguing character in this documentary. His speeches throughout are priceless. His speech to the kids in the locker room after they eventually lose to Panther Creek is incredible and heart-wrenching. It reminds you why so many people say their coach was the most influential person in their life. The feelings and emotion at that point are so genuine. I know there are coaches everywhere that care about their kids like that, but to see it on the big screen was incredible.

The film festival website calls it, “the best pep talk you have ever heard.”

Alan wants the six-man community to have a chance to fill the theatre, so get your tickets early before the publicity starts making the rounds in the Metroplex.

There will be a second showing the following Saturday, April 5 at 1:15 pm.
