    Proposed 2024 Rule Changes

Agreed. It's one or the other, but you can't have no foul on the play. As for the axe to grind, the week prior the same official called a chop block on a completely legal block that called back a TD. Our coach turned the play in and the official wasn't happy about it. The following week, he...

    Proposed 2024 Rule Changes

We had a game last fall where there was a clear horse collar along the sideline. The flag was thrown. The head official who clearly had an axe to grind decided that since the ball carrier stepped out right before the horse collar happened, it wasn’t a horse collar…and it wasn’t a late hit. Will...

    Proposed 2024 Rule Changes

I recently saw a couple of baseball players do that. Their pants were mid thigh and they have leggings bridging the gap to their stirrups. It was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

    Proposed 2024 Rule Changes

I was working chains on a JV game last season and kid from the opponent shows up without his pants. They wore black pants, so he just wears his black leggings. The refs notices it and tells him he has to have knee pads, so he found a back plate and cut it up to create knee pads and then rolled...

    Coaches vs Talent

Great coaches maximize what they have to work with. Like TRTx said, you can't judge that by W-L alone. There are plenty of coaches who have won a lot of games who aren't great coaches....they just had a lot more talent to work with than their opponents. Likewise, there are a lot of great coaches...

Tribute to my son's career (with video)

Technically it was 5x. The 3rd down play was supposed to be a handoff but the center air mailed it over the QBs head. Tucker grabbed it, but faced a dilemma. He knew he wasn't live, but he also knew he couldn't throw an incompletion and stop the clock. I'm not exactly sure what the thought...

    Grayson Rigdon

LOL. Gunter might have something to say about that.

    Grayson Rigdon

It’s not the final score I have a problem with. It’s the kid w/ 70 points jacking up 3-pointers in the final minutes of a 60+ point win.

    Grayson Rigdon

LOL....I'm not saying anything about his chances of playing in college (although I've got opinions). I'm just saying quit shooting threes late in blowouts against bad teams. It cheapens his numbers. It's obvious he's capable of scoring against most of 1A competition. Secure the lead, get your 50...

    Grayson Rigdon

Seeing something like this makes me think less of Rigdon, not more. Jacking up 3s with a 60 point lead with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter to pad stats doesn't do it for me. Put up those numbers against decent competition, not against a 2-15 1A school.

Logically speaking, I would think the best ball carriers would be the ones who don’t like to get hit and avoid the defense.

Eff me then. I stand corrected.

UIL doesn’t play under NFHS rules?

And just to be clear, I don’t care who won the game or why. I am not a fan of either school. My only goal is to help you understand the actual rule so you can stop making things up.

Can you show us that rule?
