Post First Round Playoff Games
As you have DEFINITE information on first round playoff games (teams, date, time, location) please post them here.

Here's what I have on the brackets ... all we need is the details

El Paso Jesus Chapel (D1-2) vs Temple Holy Trinity (D3-2)
Marble Falls Faith (D3-3) at Dallas Covenant (D2-1)
Lake Jackson Brazosport Christian (D5-3) at Kerville Our Lady of the Hills (D4-2)
Kennedale Fellowship (D2-4) at Tomball Rosehill (D5-1)
Christian Acad of SA (D5-4) at Abilene Christian (D1-1)
Sugar Land Logos Prep (D5-2) vs Watugua Harvest Christian (D2-2)
Rockwall Heritage Christian (D2-3) at Austin Hill Country Christian (D3-1)
Bulverde Bracken Christian (D4-1), bye

You know, it's kinda weird writing a D1 bracket without writing the words "Greenville Christian" in there somewhere. Kinda sad, too.

Here's a little TAPPS bracket-ology, which can help you understand what probably happened.

District 1 is three teams. Two automatically go to the playoffs.
District 2 is five teams. Three automatically go to the playoffs.
District 3 is four teams. Two automatically go to the playoffs.
District 4 is six teams. Three automatically go to the playoffs.
District 5 is five teams. Three automatically go to the playoffs.

That means, out of the 23 teams in D1, 13 get automatic playoff berths.

To fill a 16 team bracket, that means you need to add three teams. The last place team in each district does not normally qualify for the playoffs, so that would eliminate five schools ... Amarillo Holy Cross, Greenville Christian, Waco Vanguard, SA Lutheran and Pasadena First Baptist. I still feel like I'm in some sort of weird parraell universe saying Greenville Christian is not in the playoffs, though.

That leaves five teams left to fill the remaining playoff spots. Kennedale Fellowship and Marble Falls Faith filled two of those spots by finishing fourth in their districts. That would leave three teams left to fill that last playoff spot: Round Rock Christian (Dist 3), SA Winston (Dist 4, but they'd be out since they were in the district with Bracken), and Houston Clear Lake Christian (Dist 5).

Now, the brackets were published a couple months ago, and I don't remember what district finisher was bracketed to play the role of the Christians to the Bracken Christian "Lions," but what TAPPS rules says is something like this ... if your team is not one of the automatic playoff berths, you may be bracketed to fill the bracket of 16 (32 in vb and bb). The finishers are identified in advance on the brackets -- it's not a "we need volunteers" type of thing. And face it, if you're one of those seeds, you probably are getting a district champion on the road.

However, if you do not want to participate in the playoffs (outside of the automatic qualifiers), you may elect not to do so prior to the first round (and I'm guessing it is something you have to elect in advance, not the morning of the game). And you can't win that game and then elect to skip the next round, though. Once you start, you finish.

My guess is one of the two teams above (Round Rock or Clear Lake) elected not to play the game, as they are permitted under TAPPS rules. It will not count as a loss or forfeit, just a bye for Bracken.

Let's pick some winners. Not worried about margin of victory. Here are mine:

Temple Holy Trinity OVER El Paso Jesus Chapel
Dallas Covenant OVER Marble Falls Faith
Kerrville OLH OVER Lake Jackson Brazsoport
Tomball Rosehill OVER Kennedale Fellowship
Abilene Christian OVER Christian Academy of SA
Watugua Harvest OVER Sugar Land Logos Prep
Austin Hill Country OVER Rockwall Heritage
Bulverde Bracken...scouting Austin Hill Country v. Rockwall Heritage

This is likely incorrect. I saw it in the Temple paper today, but last I heard we are likely going to be at 2 p.m. (1 p.m. El Paso time) in Midland. I'm waiting to hear confirmation from our coach.

As for the first round bye for Bracken, I know it was not District 3's third place (Round Rock). I recall the Houston district (District 5) having the fourth-place team listed. I don't see them now (Clear Lake?), so I assume that was the team that dropped.

Rockwall is 2-2 in their last four games, which includes being shut out by Covenant. How, exactly, are they peaking?

Rockwall Christian playing 6man.. thats BIG news!! They play crowded field game. If you are talking Rockwall Heritage then, yes, they have found their groove and will be a hand full for Hill Country. May see a full 4 quarter 100 pt game out of this one.

while there is always a chance for an upset, the chances of rockwall beating hill country are about as good as the big bang theory being true. plausible in theory, but no way in reality.
