Whats more dumb, the school allowing the boys back to play or coach allowing them back to play. My guess one of these kids will be in the penal system in about 4 years. They never learned a lesson. they're not scared of any consequences. We will see real soon if they play or not. Any real coach wouldn't allow it. So call me insisitive , dont care, its not right, and its weak . We have enough weakness in america now, dont need anymore. They need to learn responsibility. Everybody is born weak, they just need to learn to overcome it.

lets back up some lets throw mom, or dad , guardian in that list of more dumb... mine would stop right there the school and the coaches would not have to worry about that at my house, and that’s about as plain as i can put it. Parents need to parent and that means administering punishment ,,,

ie child touches some thing warm and we tell him, no its hot, but he touches it any way he did not learn much .. if its hot he gets a lesson that is both swift and severe

We have turned in to a society that talks but has no action so we have kids that feel no responsibility for their actions. Parents even go to the schools and say it could not have been my little angel who did that someone must be picking on him..

Get the facts before you judge coach or administration on whether the boys get to come back or not. Kbjoe is right on that it starts at home. The school or coach cannot watch after these kids 24 7.

According to the score, the Odonnell bunch played a decent Crowell team well. Haven't heard any details other than the score. Sources are evidently busy with Tech game, stock show, or other rat killing. The talk on here doesn't lend any specifics about the game???????

I picked odonnell to win, but lost. Guess the two kids were all worn out from running their 20 miles. Which i doubt they finished. I guess things have really changed from old days when schools set discipline standards for when a kid could play sports and stuck to it. Now they have to be fair and balanced , sounds like some obama BS. Pander to the weak and unintelligent. Nothing fair and balanced about that.

Twenty miles is tough to make-up in two days, especially when you have been off for more than 2 weeks. Must have been some real motivating going on or the measuring stick may be shorter there than other mile measures. I remember a few years ago, up here in the panhandle, a couple of BB players got in trouble. They had a really huge make-up assignment, more than the one fat kid had run in his life, and they were back in time for a play-off run. I guess they have the Odonnell mile there also.

The two did play, from what i just read . The school admin and coach caved in .

And to think..my senior boy admitted to (no breathalizer) drinking 2 sips of beer and was suspended for 4 games here at Throckmorton. Thank you coach Reed for sticking to your standards.

I got one even worse, a friend of my son in lubbock had a ball cap with beer bottle tops across his cap. It was in his truck. School admin searched vehicles one day in parking lot and confiscated the hat. Suspended him for two weeks. Rest of baseball team told admin to reinstate or all players will quit. That idiot is no longer in the admin.

I bet your "Coach Reed" made a statement that was appreciated by the school community and his associate coaches.

Were the charges ever denied by the accused at Odonnell?
