 Playoff Bracket
Any ideas what teams are making playoffs from each district?

 Re: Playoff Bracket
bracken, abilene, hill country, dc... everyone else is irrelevant. the "who will win state?" topic that has been going on the past few days should answer your questions.

 Re: Playoff Bracket
Haven't seen Jesus Chapel play, but looking at their schedule, results, power rating/ranking I hope it's easy to see why they are being left off the list. They lost, substantially, to a team with a worse power rating (EP Faith) and they were 45'd by a strong public school (no shame in that but Abilene, Hill Country and Dallas Covenant all had good showings against better public schools). So, please enlighten us CoachST as to what we are missing...

 Re: Playoff Bracket
yeah CoachST, sorry to say but I think Jesus Chapel's days have come and gone. 10-12 years ago they were one of the best private school teams to play the game but those days have come and gone, and nothing looks promising from this year.

 Re: Playoff Bracket
OLH is a dark horse candidate. Kicking has improved considerably otherwise game with Austin Hill Country would have been tied and two touchdowns called back for penaties would have won the game. So OLH is in the mix. Bracken game before playoffs will give a good indication of the Hawks readiness.

 Re: Playoff Bracket
Sorry Hawkfan, you could also say two catches called TD's were clearly out of the back of the end zone for OLH. Also, Hill Country was missing two starters. What I will say, however, is that it appears OLH plays Bracken better than most anyone else, as evidenced last year in the two OT games. Thus, OLH could potentially upset Bracken, but I don't see them beating the other three teams. 6-man is often a game of match-ups.

 Re: Playoff Bracket
Have to agree with TexasJim. For whatever reason, maybe because OLH and Bracken are district foes, those two teams play close games. OLH certainly has the offensive firepower to keep themselves in most games (as long as Walker doesn't get hurt), but I don't see their defense as being strong enough to make a deep playoff run. But as we know with six-man, you get into a shoot-out with a team and many times it's an inopportune turnover or missed extra points that determine the outcome.

 Re: Playoff Bracket
Sorry, I didn't notice this as I was writing my last post, but saw Bracken shut-out SA Winston, while OLH gave up 57 points to Winston. I think that supports my argument regarding OLH's defense.
