To a special coaching fraternity and loyal SixMan fans,

I want to express my appreciation to you for a great 5 years in 6 man football. I have been blessed to have spent time with some of the most unselfish and finest coaches in the state of Texas. As Rosehill moves to a new chapter in its history, it is with a great deal of mixed emotion. Coaching 6 man football has been one of the most meaningful coaching experiences in my 30 years of coaching. SixMan football is a special and very physical brand of football and we leave not for a better brand of football, but one that fits our time and place in the growth of our school. As most of you know we have a tendency to grow them pretty big down here in Tomball. The 11 man venue simply fits us a little better at this point and time.

The tenor of our announcement was not meant to be a slap in the face of a great game with great coaches and passionate fans. I pray the Lord will continue to bless all of the SixMan nation, public and private. Thanks for all the memories.

Congrats Coach Shelby, Hope all is well and miss you guys.

Congrats to Rosehill on the move. After being on the staff at Rosehill for 5 years and then moving on to another private school and now to the public school arena, I can say Rosehill is a first class school and Coach Shelby a first class person/AD/Coach. You often don't realize how good a program is when you are inside it and only after you leave and see the other side, do you realize how good it really is.

I was looking at it selfishly
in that we were losing a great competitor,
instead of,
infusing the 11man ranks
with a little 6man action.

Congratulations Rosehill. I will miss the bragadaccio on the 6 man site and it will save us some long bus rides to Houston for playoffs games.

I believe the "plan" there may be similar to that which Austin Regents took several years back.

First, you transition your junior high program to 11 man for one or two years.

Second, you start a JV 11 man squad for a year.

Then, you move to varsity 11 man.

When you see the first step, the next ones will follow.
