Post Abiline christian going all the way
Guys,

I understand that the ACHS is always hyped up and then they don't produce when it matters. But lets get serious, they are returning all their main starters including that stud #10.. they are going to ROMP in the playoffs. I know its kind of early, but they are the team to beat. The only team i can see possibly giving them a run for their money is Marble falls faith..

Returning starters is very important true, but in Tapps..transfer players come in year after year and tend to bring about a a surprise team every now and then. Having not seen achs play yet, I cannot say what kind of team they are but I can say that ,at this point and time, Faith Academy has a lot of work to do. Bracken returns a very good core nucleus as well as several other teams. In football team is important yes, but it really only takes 2-3 great players to create a big advantage. I am excited for this season though! After a few more games, I will probably give a more definitive answer on who I believe will "go all the way".

the only reason achs was able to make it as far as they did last year was because of their passing game. they lost the qb from last year, who had a very good arm, especially for sixman. unless 10 has the arm that the qb from last year did, i dont see them putting a dent in bracken, hill country, or covenant. they also had some serious emotional problems that needed to get worked out.

Okay eaglesnest - bracken, hill country, and covenant are definately teams to contend with, but don't leave out Kerrville OLH. They lost to Bracken in OT in the playoffs last year and they are returning their stud, Walker, along with a few other seniors. They have a pretty good start to this season as well. The south will rule again this year!

Abilene Christian handled their opponent last night with class not only did they win with #10 who is definitely as if not more productive than their old qb but they won it with out number 17 And 3 those are very important players and start both ways, those two receivers combined for well over 1500 yards last year and from what I've seen haven't been stopped and also this year they are playing pretty good on defense, 17 at hammer and 3 at corner
So if Abilene Christian can handle teams without them let's see how they do with two of there star players back...
Abilene Christian is going to more than just hype this year. they are my pick for state I know it's early but they have a strong core and I don't see a team being able to stop every aspect of their run or pass game

My first post here so be easy on me as I wander into this debate.
I only have one thing to say about ACHS and their emotional problems. IT is gone this year. Those young men over came alot in the Newcastle game (losing 17,3 and cramps in the second half that had alot of the starters out of the game at times)and did not wilt. #10 is just as good as last years QB and alot more reliable. The last thing I will do is hype up ACHS but all those that stepped up againt Newcastle and Rockwall are underclassmen. They have really only played one half at full strenght (vs. St.Jo 68-0). The last thing they should do is over look any up coming games but a real test for them will be Oct 14 at Ira. As they begin to jell one thing is certain, it will be exciting come playoff time.

Always good to support your team, but there are many good teams out there. Good luck this season. There are many good players out there. There are a few that will go D1 this year and I'm not sure #10 or anyone from ACHS has that option. I could be wrong though. Not to slam anyone, just to say that there are many good players in 6 man... Good luck this season.

Abilene Christian also has players that will possibly go D1 in football and others that are very athletic that will be going for other sports,
As for number 10 he is a phenomenal QB is is simply too fast for any one out there, he is strong and stands about 5'11/ 6 and about 165 He will prolly go as a defensive back if he chooses this sport.
17 he is standing at about 6'3 with a good 200 pounds on his side,he has speed and strength.. he is playing very well at linebacker and wide receiver, I see him going as either
And 3 is just an all around athlete playing corner back and receiver , standing at 5'11/6 about 150 I think he has many options, he will probably choose basketball
They have a very very strong defensive end number 22 he is outstanding, he has allot of potential but I think he is an underclassmen so he has some time to progress and he is also standing at about 6'1 and weighs about 230
And there running back has caught my eye too is can get into the end zone how ever there coach wants. But this year it doesn't matter what teams run against them there coach always has them ready, their defense is very strong now id like to see them play a top team to see how it will measures up and they will only get better from what I've seen. There offense is still gonna score, but they have always done that.
And yes there are very good teams but I don't see them being able to beat Abilene Christian.
But if someone does then I will have to give them credit...big time credit
So good luck too all teams
I'm ready to see how Abilene Christian will hold up against a true strong team on oct 14

The game against Ira will be a better indicator of ACHS's potential. If ACHS can hang with Ira for a full 4 quarters, like Austin Hill Country did with Richland Springs, then that adds a bit more credibility to the early-season posturing.

Sounds like they are legit. But if this is another all bark no bite Abilene should never be allowed to post about their team again on boards ha

I think ACHS has to the potential to win it all this year. However, so do several other teams. In their favor, they only lost two players from a team that lost in the semi-finals last year. Granted, one of the ones they lost was the quarterback. While he was a great quarterback, I think the TEAM may be better this year without him. Remember, this is a team that BEAT Hill Country last year with virtually the same players back this year.

The telling game will be against Ira. Last year Ira was ranked number 2 when they played and they beat ACHS 83 -50.

WWW32, Why do you have such contempt for ACHS and its fans ? You have taken two jabs at them in this thread alone. According to the Tapps website, since 2003 ACHS has won it all 2005. Finished runner up in 03 and finished in the final four in 06 and 2010. There are alot of schools that would love to hang those banners in their gym. There are other great teams that very well could win it all talked about on this board that has done a lot less and I haven't seen you beguile them for their short comings in the past years.
Now, I did not find this board till playoffs last season so I have no ideas what has been discussed before then but come on. The Abilene fans think they have a team better than last years. Lest you forget they made the semis (I myself dont consider that all bark). If reading posts about ACHS bothers you that much then do what I do when our President is on television. Turn it off.
