 Skype for initial Interviews
With all this tech floating around, please tell me some of you young whipper snapper AD's and Princes are using Skype/Facebook etc. to video interview. What about video resumes? These days with gas prices and the ease of use, only a schmuck would require some poor schmuck to drive 2-5 hrs out to your place for a first interview. The interview is everyone's first impression. How does it make the school look? How weird is it to require a teacher to integrate technology in the classroom when the Princ./Supe./AD-HC can't do it? It's way weird. jus sayin'.

 Re: Skype for initial Interviews
They did Skype interviews in lieu of phone interviews at my college for the new football coach. I think they selected 25 from resumes, then whittled down to 15. Those 15 got Skype interviews. From those 15 they picked 5 finalists for on campus interviews. Everybody seemed to think that they worked really well.

Got to call on that doggy. California is # 1, South Carolina is # 2 and Georgia is # 3 in peach production by state.

Actually, it's a UIL/Illuminati conspiracy about the Georgia peaches. jus sayin'. N-E wayz Had my first Skype interview today. Didn't want to risk being cut off so I hooked up to a hard line. They were breaking up a little, but I understood their questions. Nice not having to drive out for an initial interview. Everyone should ask about the possibility of it when talking to Princ's/Supe's etc.

 Re: Skype for initial Interviews
Actually, I don't have it collared yet. Just the first interview.
(Don't know if I would say yet anyway. I was told everyone hates me so I wouldn't want a new boss to get any anonymous calls). HA jus sayin'.
The point is that it worked for both of us, but I had to suggest it. You could too!

Good answer. I wouldn't want this board to influence any blockage of jobs. Everyone is entitled to free speech, even if not everyone agrees with the words! -collegekid

 Re: Skype for initial Interviews
Just thought I'd re-visit this topic again. Did 2 Skype's last year. Can't believe EVERYONE isn't doing it.
So much experience still pushin' a pencil? What kind of statement does that make? It's so easy.
