 Bloomburg??
Is this for real? I went to their school website and noticed they didn't have football listed on their sports page. It is a long way from Gold-Burg to Bloomburg. I think it is about a 6-7 hour trip, ONE WAY!

 Re: Bloomburg??
Bloomburg got the big screw out of every school I think (and with that the schools in District 11 too)...the teams in district 13 are closer to them than the teams in District 11. I hope they play, but I would bet good money they won't.

There was an 1A 11-man team down here in South Texas a couple realignments ago (Runge) who decided to play independent, they had to get a special dispensation from UIL and the district to do so. I kinda get the idea it ain't nice to fool with Mother Nature ... or the UIL.

 Re: Bloomburg??
Runge is one of the schools that would play 6-man if there were more 6-man teams in that area of the state...there was a very good article I think the Houston paper ran a few years ago...one reason I hope Bloomburg plays is to help start the domino effect of East Texas schools playing 6-man...and that is why I am really going to be rooting for Karnack too!

 Re: Bloomburg??
The two divisions is what hurts east Texas. Karnack and Fannindel are both east Texas, but are both in division 2.
Phoneix, Fannindel, Karnack, Levertts Chapel and Bloomburg would be a more feasible district.

I play for gold-burg, and Im all for them comin up here or us goin there, but thats gonna inhale for the loser if their playing away. The best way I personally think this would work is a neutral site, anyone else think its a good idea. But that might cause a money issue

Yeah, one year you're gonna have to get on a yellow bus and go there. And one year, they get on their yellow bus and go to your place. It'll even out in the end. Neutral sites mean both sides lose money. Crowd is never as good (maybe good for playoffs, but that's it), and neither side makes the concessions loot. Plus, both of you get in yellow buses and travel both years AND pay someone else for the opportunity to play at their house. This ain't big time college football with TV rights money at stake ...

 Re: Bloomburg??
I have recieved word that bloomburg will play football in 2010 and will remain in D11. They were in the process of appeal, but, the other districts were not a solution to their travel problems. I hear they are very talented in their other athletic endeavors; any truth to this?

 Re: Bloomburg??
Will they or won't they? I have heard rumors both ways. Drives me nuts.
Just got off the phone with the Bloomberg Athletic Director, Susan Childress. She says they are going to play and that Heath Petten and DJ Meisinger will serve as football coaches.
I am delighted to see another program start up.
