 Re: Lingleville Football
A town surrounded by dairies? Sounds a little like an unknown town called Winthorst! They have a very productive football team every year with their big ole dairy boys not afraid to put a hit on ya.

Depends on if the count calves in enrollment figures. If so, probably 5A.

 Re: Lingleville Football
Well, regardless if they plan to play football, if they plan to do it in a UIL district, the deadline to inform UIL of that must be quickly approaching.
Only reason I know is that the big news in San Antonio is that this year will be the last year for the "Chili Bowl," a 70+ year tradition between San Antonio Fox Tech and Lanier HS (4A schools). San Antonio ISD is reconfiguring Fox Tech as a health-careers related magnet school and reducing its enrollment. After the SAISD AD said he was 99% sure that Fox Tech would continue to have a football team, he reversed the decision a couple days ago because he didn't think the school could turn out enough kids at the lower enrollment to be competitive.

 Re: Lingleville Football
Sweet!! Another team closer to home, making the trips on Fridnighta out of the DFW metromess makes getting to game on time a tough call. I can make Lingleville in about 90+ minuets.

So, when does the search for a coach begin?

You public folks can correct me on this, but I'm guessing they made the decision to add football after the deadline for informing the realignment gods of UIL.

 Re: Lingleville Football
If they have to play "Outlaw" what does that really mean? Where are those teams found? Are they other schools or TDC teams? Where else might they find some games?

 Re: Lingleville Football
Outlaw just means they aren't figured into the two year realignment, therefore can't participate in a district race or the playoffs. They can play anyone who will schedule them and the win or loss counts on their opponents' season records.

My guess is, unless they can make a deal with a nearby district that has a bye week (5 teams) that would agree to schedule them for the bye weeks, they'll get a schedule up to week 8 or 9. Which isn't bad for a first year program. Play till late October, learn what you need to do to succeed, and then it's basketball season. Private schools will also be a possibility as well, although many of the TAPPS districts have been expanded. For example, Seguin Lifegate will begin district play in week 3 to week 10 (8 team district agreed to set the schedule so that everyone had a bye in one of the last four weeks of the season; ours is week 9). Kinda nice to have three non-district games, teams we can now more-or-less pick-and-choose and then play 7 meaningful games for a season.
