NABORS LOSES BATTLE WITH CANCER - Zephyr football coach, Chad Nabors, passed away Tuesday night. Nabors had been diagnosed with cancer last spring and had been continuing treatment in Houston. Funeral services are set for 11 A.M., January 10th, at the First Baptist Church in DeLeon.

KONZ NAMED TO TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL HALL OF FAME - Ken Konz of Weimar will become the second six-man player inducted into the Texas High School Hall of Fame. Story.

THORNHILL, MORENO DECLARED INELIGIBLE - The UIL Executive Committee Wednesday declared both Cooper Thornhill of Panther Creek and Tomas Moreno of Newcastle ineligible for the remainder of the season. Neither team will have to forfeit any games, however. Complete story here.

FW UNIVERSAL ACADEMY SUSPENDED FOR 2003 - The UIL State Executive Committee voted unanimously today to ban FW Universal Academy from football for the 2003 season. Under the conditions of the probatiospreads n, Irving Universal Academy must participate in all other UIL activities they have indicated they are involved in, or be suspended from the UIL.

PRAIRIE LEA BEGINS SEASON - Priaire Lea, who played Martindale in the first-ever Texas six-man football game back in the spring of 1938 as a demonstration for the UIL, returned to six-man football, Friday the 6th, in a loss at Cedar Park Hilltop. Prairie Lea had last played football in 1957.

ALBERT BOOKER RUNNING WELL AT TT - Albert Booker, who almost single-handedly led Trent to a state track title last spring, is running well as a freshman at Tech.
